Hohenstein-Ernstthal: Unvaccinated hair cutting remains illegal here

A barber shop in Saxony also wanted to serve the unvaccinated and had the idea of simply cutting their hair outdoors. However, the responsible district office forbade that.

Many companies have been suffering from falling sales and customer losses since the beginning of the corona pandemic. The 2G and 3G regulations currently in force in Saxony, which are intended to limit the further spread of Covid-19, are also causing loss of income and frustration for business owners and customers.

In order to make their hairdressing trade available to unvaccinated people despite the current epidemic protection laws – which in Saxony for example prohibit unvaccinated people from being served in barber shops – a salon in Hohenstein-Ernstthal came up with an idea: Why not just do the hairdressing of unvaccinated people outdoors?

Freezing hairdressers: inside in Hohenstein-Ernstthal

It took just four days from the idea to implementation, as hairdresser Cornelia E. explains in an interview with the “Free Press”, which first reported on the campaign. “I had seen a report where traders brought unvaccinated goods to the door of the shop. I thought if we cut hair in front of the door, it would have to be compliant,” she continued.

When the necessary hairdressing equipment, including the hairdressing chairs, some radiant heaters and lighting were brought outside, we could start. According to the “Free Press”, the temperature was minus 2 degrees Celsius, which meant that cutting was complicated even because the hairdressers’ hands freeze quickly. “But I had imagined it would be worse,” said E. about the “Free Press”.

Video message from the former Chancellor: Gerhard Schröder pleads for compulsory vaccination

In a post on Facebook, she explains why she put herself and her colleagues at risk of contagion with Corona by making this offer especially for unvaccinated people: “2G RULE – INSANITY. Access to the salon for unvaccinated people is refused and Christmas is just around the corner, yesterday we gave unvaccinated regular customers a haircut on the terrace of the lounge, on the patio heater with hot tea. The campaign was very well received. It was funny and very cold … It should be a sign! We are taking part not because of the division of society and human discrimination! ” This attitude obviously takes up some arguments of the lateral thinker movement and can be questioned accordingly.

Body-hugging service

According to the salon operator, dissatisfaction with the legal situation leads to discrimination against the unvaccinated and divides society. The fact that not only many see it very differently, but also that the responsible district office considers the action to be illegal, emerged a little later from a statement by the authority from which the “Free Press” quoted: “The particular risk of infection here lies in the proximity of the service to the body In other words, it does not matter whether the service is offered indoors or outdoors. ” The Saxon Corona Emergency Ordinance applies, according to which “proof of vaccination or recovery must be presented.”

A repetition of the hairdressing action should therefore not be expected for the time being. It has so far remained unclear whether the business is threatened with legal consequences.
