In recent days, the Construction Workers Union of the Argentine Republic (UOCRA) achieved an additional salary increase after an intense series of negotiations with the sector chambers.
This happens in a context of decline in the construction industry, strongly affected by the economic recession, UOCRA had been looking for a raise for its workers due to the high inflation of recent months. After weeks of talks and threats of an indefinite strike, a 40% quarterly agreement was reached for all construction employees, which will bring a journeyman’s base hourly wage to $2,499.

How much does the salary of UOCRA workers increase?
According to the agreement signed by Gerardo Martinezthe increase is cumulative and includes a “recomposition” for March 2024. In May, UOCRA workers will receive the following hourly amounts, adjusted to the April increase:
- Specialized Officer: $2933 (Basic Zone A), $323 (Additional Zone B), $1570 (Additional Zone C), $2933 (Additional Southern Zone C).
- Official: $2499 (Basic Zone A), $276 (Additional Zone B), $1706 (Additional Zone C), $2499 (Additional Southern Zone C).
- Official Medium: $2304 (Basic Zone A), $250 (Additional Zone B), $1744 (Additional Zone C), $2304 (Additional Southern Zone C).
- Helper: $2115 (Basic Zone A), $243 (Additional Zone B), $1805 (Additional Zone C), $2115 (Additional Southern Zone C).
