As Ámbito learned, the Argentine delegates are seeking definitions with the Chinese bankers about the fine print of the swap

The officials left last Friday and joined the chancellor’s delegation, Diana Mondino, who embarked the day before on the trip to the Far East. Bausili will return to Buenos Aires on April 30 and Quirno will continue with the delegation to Paris, where he will participate in the meetings in which Argentina will receive the roadmap for access to the OECD.
The negotiation, which will be more political than economic, focuses on a segment of US$4.9 billion that expire in June of this year and that were used at the time by the former Minister of Economy Sergio Massa to compensate for the lack of dollars and meet the payment of maturities with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), with private bondholders and imports.
Given the situation of the Central Bank’s reserves, which, although they are better than a few months ago, still remain in negative territory by about 4,000 million dollars, added to a harvest that is not going to be as good as expected. and the obligations with different current multilateral organizations, the possible solution that analysts understand to exist is an extension of the maturity or renegotiation.
But given the strained relationship with the Chinese Government based on the position expressed by President Javier Milei, a complex dialogue is expected.
