Stock exchange in Frankfurt: DAX continues to rise – close to record high

The Dax continues to approach its record. The leading German index gained 0.29 percent to 18,483.89 points, driven in part by a jump in the price of Siemens Energy shares. In general, the reporting season made the big headlines again in the middle of the week.

The fourth day of profits in a row is approaching for the Dax. After the weak April, the leading index got off to a promising start in May, even if this is actually considered a weak month for the stock markets. The Dax is only less than 100 points short of the record high of 18,567 points.

Weak figures for German industrial production in March did not slow investors’ interest in stocks on Wednesday. Accordingly, the MDax also gained 0.41 percent to 26,669.51 points. Meanwhile, the Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 rose somewhat more moderately by 0.2 percent.
