Businessmen rejected the CGT strike and called it unjustified and inopportune

The Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC) expressed his rejection of the force measure that begins this Thursday for 24 hours.

The Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC) He expressed his rejection of the strike that the CGT called for tomorrow, believing that it is an “unjustified and inconvenient” measure.

“It is striking that five months after the inauguration of the current National Government, a second general strike is already taking placewhen during the four years of the previous presidential term there was not even a single protest of these characteristics, when the economic and social panorama at that time was far from being idyllic,” said the business entity.

The CAC also noted, in a statement, that “the present ailments have their origin in previous mistakes, some of long standing -such as excessive regulations and disproportionate tax pressure- and others that have been significantly magnified in recent years, such as the disorder in public accounts and excessive monetary issuance.”

He also questioned the unionists who reject the labor reform included in the Base Law project, maintaining that, in this regard, the official initiative “provides for quite limited changes, much less ambitious than those proposed in the original text, so a “Certain opposition is difficult to understand.”

Consequently, he considered that “The absence of justifications, combined with multiple and pernicious disturbances that every general strike produces, leads to expressing complete rejection of the measure.”
