The workers of the Construction Workers Union of the Argentine Republic (UOCRA) They received this month of May their wages with an increase of 14% as part of the union’s latest quarterly agreement with the chambers of the sector. In the approval there were changes to what was signed.

The UOCRA closed the joint agreement weeks ago with the Argentine Chamber of Construction (CAMARCO) and the Argentine Federation of Construction Entities (FAEC). This was a 40% quarterly deal for all construction employees that brought a journeyman’s hourly base to $2,499.


But at the time of approving the agreement, changes occurred for the settlements.
UOCRA increase: how much do I charge in May
The 40% increase that UOCRA construction workers began to receive in April was going to be paid in three tranches as follows:
- April: 14% on March 2024 salaries, settled in May;
- May: 11% on April 2024 salaries, settled in June;
- June: 11% on May 2024 salaries, settled in July.
However, despite the fact that the total 40% increase remains, the last section of June will see a 5% increase on May 2024 salaries, along with a 6% salary recomposition also calculated on May. In June the parties will meet again for an update.
