A week of protests against the Tesla factory is about to end. A meeting of Grünheide’s community representatives on the planned expansion of Tesla could bring new actions.
Despite the dissolution of an action camp, protests against US electric car manufacturer Tesla in Grünheide near Berlin are still possible in the coming days.
The “Turn off the tap from Tesla” alliance announced that it would be present at the local council meeting scheduled for Thursday on the planned expansion of the Tesla site, as spokeswoman Karolina Drzewo said. The “Stop Tesla” alliance also wants to continue. The camp will be dismantled, but the “water occupation” at the Fangschleuse train station will remain, said spokeswoman Caro Weber.
The “Disrupt Tesla” initiative is keeping further protests open. If, contrary to the citizen survey, the local council votes for an expansion of the Tesla site, “Disrupt Tesla” will definitely come back, said spokeswoman Lucia Mende. After several days, the week of protests against the car manufacturer is set to end. However, a protest camp in the forest with tree houses remains. Around 12,000 people work in company boss Elon Musk’s car factory in Grünheide in Brandenburg. It is partly in the water protection area.
