Brent crude oil price exceeded $ 77 for the first time since the end of November

The price of Brent crude oil rose above $ 77 per barrel. This follows from the data of the London stock exchange ICE on Monday, December 27.

As of 18:22 Moscow time, the price of a Brent oil futures reached $ 77.08 per barrel, RT reports.

The last time the price of Brent was above $ 77 per barrel was on November 26, 2021, writes Life.Ru.

On December 24, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak expressed the opinion that in 2022 the oil price could remain at the level of $ 75 per barrel with the possibility of fluctuations around 10%. He noted that such a price is promoted by the growth of the world economy and the demand for oil.

Earlier, on December 21, Fyodor Sidorov, a private investor and founder of the School of Practical Investment, commented on the dynamics of oil prices in an interview with the Federal News Agency. According to him, in the near future, oil quotes will remain at the level of $ 67-74 per barrel, since a number of negative factors pressurize the recovery in demand.

On December 7, Lukoil vice president Leonid Fedun said that the oil market will be protected from high volatility in the coming year thanks to the OPEC + deal, so oil will cost about $ 60-80 per barrel in 2022.

According to him, OPEC + “ensures balancing” of oil production, but the world is facing the threat of a shortage of reserves. He believes that in five years we will see that “the first reproduction of reserves will not occur”, that a number of companies “will stop exploration under pressure from their shareholders.”

On the same day, Izvestia wrote that world oil quotes increased by more than 1%, after the US Department of Energy published weekly data on the reserves of this resource. Oil inventories in the United States last week decreased by 4.58 million barrels to 428.29 million barrels. The last meeting of the Federal Reserve System (FRS) added optimism to the markets, which kept the key rate at the same level – 0-0.25%.
