For the entire current year, the insurance company assumes that the damage caused by natural forces will “reach a magnitude that R + V has never experienced in its almost 100-year history”. The Association of the German Insurance Industry (GDV) estimates the insurance damage after the flood in West Germany at up to five billion euros, as it announced on Wednesday.
In the first half of the year, R + V’s premium income in the German primary insurance business rose by 4.4 percent compared to the same period in the previous year to more than 9 billion euros. The reason is the good economy. Rollinger was cautiously optimistic for the year as a whole.
