With the Amex Platinum Card, users can enjoy many benefits, for example with airlines like Condor. However, the credit card also comes at a hefty price.
American Express is currently offering its new customers the best Platinum Card ever – 65,000 Membership Rewards points are credited to the account after six months – but this requires a turnover of at least 10,000 euros. Amex is offering numerous other benefits with the Platinum Card, but these are not worthwhile for everyone. With a fee of 720 euros per year, the Amex Platinum is also one of the most expensive cards in the premium range. However, if you use the advantages cleverly, you can offset the high price. Frequent flyers receive some exclusive services from Condor, for example. Is the package worth it overall?
How to use Condor benefits with the Amex Platinum Card
Don’t feel like standing in line at check-in or boarding? With the Amex Platinum Card, there is an exclusive Priority Package for Condor flights, which gives users priority treatment and the ability to use the Fast Lane. These are also included in the Condor Platinum credit card from American Express:
- Discounts on economy and business class flights
- Additional checked baggage and sports baggage is included
- Discounted seat bookings
- Free use of Wi-Fi during the flight
- The first drink on the flight is included
Advantages with Condor – is it worth it?
If you fly regularly and prefer to use Condor, you can save money with the benefits of the Amex Platinum Card. Additional baggage, for example, is often quite expensive; depending on the flight, this can add up to 150 euros to the price of the flight. Sports baggage such as diving equipment also costs up to 70 euros depending on the destination – if you book at the airport, you pay significantly more. If you also want more comfortable seats, you can book them in advance at a lower price as a premium credit card holder. Condor currently offers cheap flights to Lanzarote from around 73 euros, for example, where you can take advantage of the benefits straight away.
People who travel a lot and use the numerous additional services of the Amex Platinum Card can still make a profit in the end. However, it is important to really use the advantages – if you rarely fly and travel, you should look for a cheaper alternative
