“This new tool aims to efficiently share the information provided by banking entities operating in Argentina, thus contributing to strengthening transparency and security in the country’s financial operations,” the bank said.

The Reported Checks API allows you to make queries to find out if a check was reported as loststolen or adulterated, which helps prevent possible fraud or scams. In addition, the API provides a list of all the banking entities in the country with their respective entity codes, thus simplifying the consultation process.
“This new API not only strengthens the financial transparency, but also represents a significant advance in terms of efficiency and accessibility. By allowing a more agile and economical interaction with the BCRA databases, both the costs and times associated with financial information queries by market participants are reduced,” the BCRA explained.
The launch of the Denounced Checks API is part of the strategy of the BCRA Open Finance.
