The sanctions against Russia are working, but they still cannot stop dictator Vladimir Putin. Everything he most urgently needs comes to his country via China. The German government must combat these shadow exports.
Three German companies that were until recently considered the most loyal companies in Vladimir Putin’s empire are now withdrawing from Russia: the building materials manufacturer Knauf, which was previously considered one of the largest investors there with 14 factories and 4,000 employees. Also the fashion group Boss, one of the best-known German brands in Russia. And the law firm Rödl & Partner, which has been considered a pioneer among all western lawyers and consultants since opening an office in Moscow over 30 years ago.
