The plant engineering company Kremsmüller from Steinhaus can look back on what it says is one of the most successful years in the company’s history: operating performance in the group increased by 18 percent to 260 million euros in the past financial year (as of December 31). In the core segment of plant engineering, operating performance rose from 184 to 204 million euros.

The reason for the development is the energy transition and the numerous investments that companies are making in this area. Sustainable energy transformation projects are a focus of the company. One of Kremsmüller’s key areas of activity, for example, are heat pumps for industry, which make it possible to use industrial waste heat efficiently. These can be used to use the energy generated in a wide variety of processes. This allows process heat of up to 200 degrees to be generated.

Kremsmüller is responsible for both the production of components for these large heat pumps and their installation in the customer’s energy network. “We see great potential here,” said managing partner Gregor Kremsmüller at a press conference in Linz on Friday. However, uncertainty is currently dominating the important sales market of Germany. “It is not clearly communicated which heat sources are good and worthy of funding. Clarity is urgently needed here.”
