Government questions the payment of a bonus to retirees

The Government did not confirm the continuity of the payment of an extra bonus to retirees, which until now ANSES settled at $70,000. “It depends on the fiscal numbers,” said President Milei.

What is confirmed is the 4.2% mobility increase that will be delivered to all beneficiaries and will also impact the Universal Child Allowance (AUH) and Family Allowances (SUAF).

The Government did not confirm the continuity of the payment of an extra bonus to retireesThat so far ANSES settled at $70,000, which beyond the reduction in inflation will be a blow to the pockets of older adults. “It depends on the fiscal numbers. We are not going to give people what is not there,” said the president. Javier Milei.

ANSES delivered for four consecutive months a $70,000 bonus to boost the sector’s revenues. With the President’s statements, its continuity is now in doubt.

“The bonus has a discretionary characteristic, and we have to be serious. There will only be bonuses depending on how the situation is and how the fiscal numbers are,” said Milei in statements to the LN+ channel. He explained: “It depends on the fiscal numbers. We are not going to deceive people, we are not going to lie to them by giving them things that are not there.”

Increase for ANSES retirees in July

What is confirmed is the 4.2% increase for mobility that will be given to all beneficiaries and will also impact the Universal Child Allowance (AUH) and Family Allowances (SUAF).

With the new mobility formula, retirees and pensioners will have monthly increases according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) published by INDEC, but with a two-month delay.

In this sense, in July retirees and pensioners will receive a 4.2% increase due to the May inflation data. In this way, the minimum pensions will go from $206,931 to $215,622, while the maximum will reach $1,450,533.33.

If the Government finally pays a bonus in July, and if it does not adjust the amount for inflation as it did not do the previous month, a pensioner from the minimum would collect just over $285,000.
