The new system allows for much more precise sorting than before.

The plant has been in operation since spring, and on Friday it was officially opened in the presence of federal, state and local politicians. With a capacity of 100,000 tons per year, half of all of Austria’s lightweight packaging material can be sorted and prepared for recycling in the Ennshafen.

The plant is operated by the company Triplast, which is owned one third each by Abfall Recycling Austria (ARA), the Green Dot from Germany and the Mollner company Bernegger. With a small team of currently 60 and in the future 40 people, lightweight packaging made of plastic and metal is delivered and sorted.
