The antecedent
The text recalls that the Puerto Iguazú Free Trade Zone was created on May 29, 1997 by the Province of Misiones and that the original concession for the construction, maintenance, administration and exploitation of the Free Trade Zone was granted for a period of 30 years, with the possibility of extension for up to 10 more years.

The Governor of the Province of Misiones, Hugo Mario Passalacqua, submitted a note requesting the extension of the concession for 8 more years.
The concession was awarded to the group comprising London Supply Sociedad Anónima, Comercial, Industrial, Financiera, Inmobiliaria – Miyar, Unión Transitoria de Empresas. The original term of the concession expires on 9 February 2030.
Extension request
The Governor of the Province of MisionesHugo Mario Passalacquasubmitted a note requesting an extension of the concession for 8 more years. This request is based on the fact that the concessionaire company has fulfilled all its obligations and “that the extension will allow the continued development and growth of the Free Trade Zone,” the official document adds.
Thus, and through the Resolution of the Ministry of Economy, the portfolio in charge of Luis Andres Caputo accepts the request for extension and grants an extension of the concession for 8 years, starting on February 9, 2030. “The extension is considered to be convenient for the development of the Free Trade Zone and there are no technical obstacles to its granting,” it concludes.
