The car manufacturer Tesla is usually facing completely different challenges. But now it has become known that the factory in Grünheide is no longer in full swing. Will they buy more?
The US electric car manufacturer Tesla has an internal problem with tens of thousands of missing coffee cups at its plant in Grünheide. According to information from the “Handelsblatt” and the German Press Agency, a total of 65,000 coffee cups have not been where they should be for some time. At a company meeting, plant manager André Thierig spoke about it and mentioned the number. “Statistically, each of you already has five Ikea coffee cups at home,” Thierig said there. The “Handelsblatt” cited a recording of the company meeting.
However, according to internal reports, the plant manager referred to the missing cups and the statistical number as a humorous explanation that was not meant as an accusation. He not only talked about the coffee cups, but also, for example, about a new fitness studio for the approximately 12,000 employees.
Cause is unclear
Tesla had purchased numerous coffee cups for employees over time. Where they ended up is unclear. However, the phenomenon also occurs in other companies. It is not yet clear whether the cups will be repurchased. Because cutlery has also disappeared from small tea kitchens, it is no longer available there. The car manufacturer has now also introduced reusable cups.
Tesla opened Europe’s only electric car factory under company boss Elon Musk more than two years ago in Grünheide near Berlin. Production is to be expanded further. An approval process has begun with the state of Brandenburg.
