The average salary sought increased by 68.81%, but did not reach one million pesos

The cumulative increase in salary required in 2024 far exceeds that of the first half of 2023which was 37.68%, with an accumulated inflation of 42.5%; and also to that of the last six months of the same yearwhich was 55.75%, compared to an inflation of 78% in that period. This was reflected in a recent report prepared by the employment platform Bumeran.

“The required remuneration so far in 2024 has increased by 68.81%, although it is still below the accumulated inflation of 71.9% until May, we can see that both variables are getting closer. This could indicate the beginning of a recovery in the value of wages in Argentina,” explains Federico Barni, CEO of Jobint.

During 2024, the largest increase of the requested salary with respect to the previous month was recorded in March with an increase of 17.72%. February follows with 17.45%, and May with 13.57%.

The Average expected remuneration reached 919,089 pesos per month in June, with a 7.57% increase compared to May. The highest cumulative increases in average intended salaries during the first half of 2024 at semi-senior and senior levels are registered in Production, Supply and Logistics with 99.73%; Commercial with 94.76%; Others with 94.73%; Commercial with 47.68%; and Technology and Systems with 93.15%. All these sectors have accumulated increases higher than the seniority average, which is 85.89%.

What are the positions with the highest average salaries in the first half of 2024?

During 2024, the highest required wages were recorded during June in Management Control with 2,175,000 pesos per month for the supervisor and boss positions; in Infrastructure with 1,775,000 pesos per month for the semi-senior and senior levels; and during May in Functional Analysis with 1,018,750 pesos per month for the junior segment.
