Wholesale prices slowed to 2.7% in June and accumulated a rise of 50.5% in the first half of the year

Wholesale prices rose 2.7% in June on a monthly basis. This variation is a consequence of the 2.7% rise in domestic products and 2.2% in imported products.

Wholesale inflation slowed to 2.7% in May, the lowest figure since December 2021. Although this was the sixth consecutive monthly reduction, The year-on-year variation was 274%. This variation was a consequence of the 2.7% increase in national products and 2.2% on imported products.

On the other hand, the general level of the Basic Domestic Wholesale Price Index (IPIB) showed an increase of 2.5% in the same period and was explained by the rise of 2.5% in national products and 2.2% in imported products.

In addition, the overall level of the Basic Producer Price Index (PPI) registered an increase of 2.6% in the same period, as a result of the rise of 3.6% in “Primary products” and 2.3% in “Manufactured products and electric energy”.

Construction cost

The general level of the Construction Cost Index (ICC) in Greater Buenos Aires corresponding to June 2024 registered an increase of 3.3% compared to the previous month.

This result arises as a consequence of a 1.2% increase in the chapter “Materials”of 5.4% in the chapter “Labour” and 4.4% in the chapter “General expenses”.
