Air traffic: Lufthansa: Only slightly affected by computer malfunction

IT problems are affecting several airlines and airports worldwide. Lufthansa says the problems are limited.

Lufthansa believes that it is “currently only slightly” affected by the worldwide computer problems. “Delays and individual failures may occur,” the airline announced in Frankfurt. There are no major effects due to the IT problems, said a spokeswoman for the German Press Agency, without giving any figures. “Flight operations at BER airport are significantly affected.” Lufthansa regrets the inconvenience for its passengers.

Computer problems led to widespread disruptions around the world on Friday. In Germany, Berlin and Hamburg airports, among others, had to temporarily close operations at the start of the holidays.
