In the middle of the travel season, fuel prices fall significantly. Diesel prices in particular are falling rapidly.
Prices at German petrol stations are falling. Both petrol and diesel have become significantly cheaper in the last seven days, according to the ADAC. For example, the national average daily price of E10 petrol on Tuesday was 1.751 euros per litre, which was 2.5 cents less than a week ago. Diesel even fell by 2.9 cents to 1.627 euros per litre. This is the lowest price this year. Petrol, on the other hand, did not reach an annual low. It is just under three cents away from the cheapest day in January so far.
For diesel, it was the third weekly decline, and for petrol the second. But for both, it was the sharpest in a while. Prices had been falling gradually from the end of April to mid-June. After that, there was a temporary countermovement, which has now apparently been broken.
