The Trade Union confirmed on Thursday the increase in wages for August. The adjustment aims to counteract the effects of inflation and ensure that wages remain in line with the cost of living. The salary increase will apply to all levels and categories within the commercial sector, from the administrative staff to operational staff and customer service.
Details of the collective bargaining agreement
The collective agreement stipulates a progressive increase of 13.5%, divided into several stages.. From June 2024, employees received a first increase of 5%, followed by 4.5% in July. In August, a third increase of 4% will be applied, adjusting the basic salary with attendance to $858,200. This increase was approved by the Ministry of Labor.
In addition, a new meeting will be held in September 2024 to review economic conditions and, if necessary, adjust salaries again. The non-remunerative increases granted in January and February 2024 will also be incorporated into the basic terms of the agreement.distributed in three equal installments starting in September.
This agreement will cover the period from March 2024 to April 2025, benefiting retail employees nationwide. FAECYS reiterated its commitment to defending workers’ rights in future negotiations.
