Attention construction workers: how much will you earn in August?

The Construction Workers Union of the Argentine Republic (UOCRA) announced a new salary increase for workers in the sector, effective from July, so it will be maintained for August. This increase in the eleven% It is part of a collective bargaining agreement that also includes other adjustments.

The union indicated that this measure will affect the categories stipulated in the Collective Labor Agreement No. 76/75. The three-year collective agreement with the companies in the sector included increases in the 14% in April, 11% in May and 11% in June.

The wage agreement was in force until June 30, so a special commission was also created to monitor economic and construction sector variables, as well as their socioeconomic impact.

Salary increases for July 2024

In July, construction workers will receive the last tranche of the planned increases, with an adjustment of 11%. Below is the breakdown of the increases:

  • 14% in April: based on March 2024 salaries, settled in May.
  • 11% in May: based on April 2024 salaries, settled in June.
  • 11% in June: based on May 2024 wages, settled in July, along with another 11% increase.

In addition, the UOCRA confirmed an additional 5% and 6% increase on May salaries, to be settled in July as part of a salary adjustment. In mid-August, the union will begin new negotiations to define additional adjustments starting that month.

The new salary scales for construction workers, including specialist officers, officers, part-time officers, assistants and security guards, will be as follows from July 2024:

Specialized Officer per hour

  • Basic Zone A: $3,613
  • Additional Zone B: $4,011
  • Additional Zone C: $5,547
  • Additional Southern Zone C: $7,226

Hourly Officer

  • Basic Zone A: $3,079
  • Additional Zone B: $3,420
  • Additional Zone C: $5,181
  • Additional Southern Zone C: $6,158

Official average per hour

  • Basic Zone A: $2,839
  • Additional Zone B: $3,147
  • Additional Zone C: $4,988
  • Additional Southern Zone C: $5,678

Hourly Helper

  • Basic Zone A: $2,606
  • Additional Zone B: $2,906
  • Additional Zone C: $4,831
  • Additional Southern Zone C: $5,213

Monthly Serene

  • Basic Zone A: $472,871
  • Additional Zone B: $526,819

Differences by area

Salaries vary depending on the work area, taking into account factors such as climate. The areas are classified as follows:

Zone A: Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA), Province of Buenos Aires, Santiago del Estero, Santa Fe, Mendoza, San Juan, Catamarca, Cordoba, Entre Rios, Salta, Tucuman, Chaco, La Pampa, San Luis, Corrientes, La Rioja, Formosa, Jujuy and Misiones.

  • Zone B: Neuquen, Rio Negro and Chubut.
  • Zone C: Santa Cruz.
  • Southern Zone C: Land of Fire.
