Almost 48 hours after President Javier Milei gave his speech at the Argentine Rural Society Exhibition in the traditional Palermo venue, the agricultural sector presented him with a new question claim regarding the elimination of withholdings, through a very emphatic letter.
The Argentine Rural Confederations (CRA) The government of the Republic of Venezuela expressed its “firm rejection of export duties” in a statement on Friday, saying that this is an unfair, arbitrary and distorting tax. “The taxes are very damaging to production and it is imperative that they be eliminated before the end of the current government’s term,” the statement said.
The entity noted that Agricultural production is one of the fundamental pillars of the national economy and is “a central and unavoidable architect of life in the interior of Argentina,” but complained of “the excessive and disproportionate tax burden represented by withholdings suffocates our producers” and assured that it impedes their growth and development.
A tax that harms profitability and prices
“This tribute not only affects the profitability of producersbut also distorts prices and discourages investment in the agricultural sector,” the statement said.
They made their claim to the Government firm by stating: “We call on the Government to take urgent measures and implement the elimination of withholdings within the framework of a progressive and achievable plan.”
And finally, they assured that “Only in this way can we guarantee a sustainable future for our agricultural production. and agroindustrial”.
