Stress can make you sick – many people have probably experienced this. The health insurance company KKH warns: The number of days people are absent from work due to stress is increasing. There is one main reason for this.
According to a new survey, perfectionism in particular is causing enormous stress among working people. According to the Forsa survey commissioned by KKH Kaufmännische Krankenkasse, around two thirds of those surveyed feel pressured by their own high expectations to do their job as well as possible. Time pressure in everyday work is the second biggest stress driver. According to the study, 43 percent of working people are often under pressure – 15 percent even very often. At the same time, according to data from KKH insured persons, the number of days off work due to stress-related psychological problems is increasing nationwide.
For the study, the opinion research institute Forsa conducted a representative survey of 1,001 working people aged 18 to 70 across Germany from July 1 to 8 on behalf of the KKH. The health insurance company is one of the largest nationwide funds with around 1.6 million insured people.
