A job scenario: You are bursting with creativity and energy, your boss seems to be enthusiastic about your ideas, but you are still not making any progress professionally. What does it do to us when we are kept down at work, Ms. Young Claus?
Of course, it would be desirable for managers to empower their employees. I would strongly encourage this. In my opinion, this is a factor that keeps employees in the company in the long term and helps when they have to go the extra mile. If we feel like we are being kept down at work, it is not just the fault of the managers.

If you don’t feel seen and valued for what you do, it can lead to dissatisfaction. Of course. This is where personal responsibility comes into play, alongside management: actively seeking out the conversation, addressing the problem. Because sometimes, when you say that you’re not getting what you deserve, it’s because the employer doesn’t even know what you want.
How much can you complain to your boss about your job situation without it backfiring?
If someone is very good at their job and is doing a good job, it is completely fine to demand something in return. And if you notice that you are still not able to develop as much as you would like, then you have to think about how you can move forward.
And give up?
If you have had such a difficult conversation once or even several times without success, but nothing has changed, you have to ask yourself whether you can still remain true to yourself if you stay in the company or area. Or whether your own energy can be used in a more fulfilling way.
