Misiones allocated 50% of loans to female entrepreneurs

In the province of Missions a peculiarity arose: Half of the loans granted for entrepreneurship it was for women who presented investment projects. According to the Minister of Finance Adolfo Safranother jurisdictions are seeking to replicate the credit lines initiative to this universe.

The data is provided by the Undersecretary of Integration, IndustryTrade and Technology, Graciela De Moura. These are the first results after having announced in August 2023 the commitment to entrepreneurship led by women through a line of credit that Tax authorities signed with the general secretary of the Federal Investment Council (CFI), Ignacio Lamothe.

The total amount contemplated is $1 billion, intended for credits with a bonus 2.5% per year upon signature and of 5% for remaining loans.

The objective is to provide financial support for productive projects and micro, small and medium-sized businesses led and/or managed by women living in the Province.

These credits are directed to self-employed and independent workers O well companies that have 51% or more of the share capital under the ownership of a woman or that have as minimum 20% and, simultaneously, a woman on its board or in its senior management.

“We support women who have an idea but cannot develop it from the start with loans. It is about economically empowering this sector within the industrywhich seeks to invest in technology,” explained De Moura.

New business connections

The initiative is developed within the framework of a trade policy that has achieved, from December to the present, 250 new business connections with other provinces through fairs and business rounds held in Misiones.

“You have to look at the experience from the private side and understand that it is very difficult for women to start or carry out a project, that is why Training or funding are important that we promote from the Ministry of Industry,” explained the designated official.

The percentage was known after one year of the application of this program, announced on August 2, 2023, together with the CFI, represented by Lamotheand the provincial representative in the organization, Viviana Rovira.

According to the latest data shared by the province, around 32% of women in Misiones lead SMEsand of the more than 110 thousand formal jobs, Only 29 thousand are not occupied by men, a considerably low number.

The need to facilitate financing for entrepreneurs was a topic of discussion within the framework of the first regional congress Global Partnership for Equity and Integrity (AGEI)an event dedicated to sharing debates, interviews and training among professional women from different areas.

The meeting took place in the province of Tierra Colorada and was part of the preview to Women Economic Forum (WEF)which takes place once a year in New DelhiIndia, and has more than 500 chapters worldwide. In this case, Argentina is also the host of this event, whose local representation is carried out by Lina Anllolawyer and president of AGEI.
