Renault Scénic E-Tech: Is this Europe’s best family electric car?

As the Megane Scénic, it was the most popular minivan and millions of units were sold. The new, fully electric Renault Scénic E-Tech shows a lot of light – but unfortunately also shadows. The 1500-kilometer car test.

When Renault launched the Mégane Scénic in 1996, it quickly became a million-seller. It wasn’t pretty, but it was pleasing, and especially attractive to young families. They were happy with the ample space (it was available with five and seven seats), folding tables in the back, and lots of hard plastic that made it easy to wipe off children’s mess. And they loved the rear window on the hatchback, which could be opened separately when the trunk lid was closed, so that every last baby accessory could be stuffed into the car. The French discontinued the good old combustion-engine Scénic at the beginning of 2023.
