The metalworkers signed an agreement with the sector’s businessmen that will allow them monthly increases of between 2.5% and 3.5% for the coming months.
The Metalworkers Union (UOMRA) agreed with the sector’s employers a salary increase in four installments of more than 12%.

This is how the salary scale for the coming months looks like:
- 3.5% as of 1/7/24 on base salaries in effect as of 1/7/24
- 3.5% as of 8/1/24, on base salaries in effect as of 7/31/24
- 2.5% as of 9/1/24, on base salaries in effect as of 8/31/24
- 2.5% as of 10/1/24, on base salaries in effect as of 9/30/24
The retroactive payment corresponding to the month of July 2024 will be paid with the following:s salaries corresponding to the first half of August as long as the agreement is approved.
The Parties undertook to attach the forms with the values of the basic salaries agreed upon within the next 48 hours.
Global minimum reference income:
- $669,326 as of 1/7/24
- $692,753 as of 1/8/24
- $710,072 as of 1/9/24
- $727,823 as of 10/1/24
The parties agreed to meet again as of November 15, 2024 in order to carry out the review of this agreement evaluating the evolution of macroeconomic variables and the level of activity and continuing with collective bargaining.
The agreement still needs to be approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. through a resolution in the Official Gazette. At the same time, the peer review will only affect the Branch 17.
