A company boss sees Germany in decline. He has a few suggestions to change that.
According to Munich Reinsurance boss Joachim Wenning, employees in Germany should work more. “Why aren’t a few public holidays simply cancelled? There is no reason why Bavaria needs significantly more public holidays than Hamburg or Germany more than many other countries,” Wenning told the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”. “And why can’t Germans retire later? They live longer too.”
Germany needs a turnaround. “Germany is currently in decline,” said the CEO. “Growth is declining. You encounter the dilapidated infrastructure every day in various places. The surplus of foreign investment is declining.” Under strict conditions, he would also accept higher levels of debt for intelligent investments.
