The NRA predicted the ruble exchange rate for 2022

In 2022, the ruble exchange rate will be in the range of 73–76 rubles per dollar, the director general of the National Rating Agency Alina Rozentsvet said in an interview with Izvestia.

“If we take the baseline forecast, we expect that there will not be a sharp strengthening of the dollar, the ruble will be in the rather usual range of 73–76 rubles per dollar. In a pessimistic forecast, if the geopolitical background changes in a negative direction and the prices for oil and gas go down, it will be 76–82 rubles per dollar, ”Alina Rozentsvet clarified.

In accordance with the optimistic forecasts of the NRA, the exchange rate will be in the range of 71-73 rubles per dollar.

“In connection with the events in Kazakhstan and the uncertainty in the negotiations between NATO and Russia in the first half of 2022, there will be great volatility in the foreign exchange market, where the ruble exchange rate may fluctuate in the range of three to five rubles, depending on the development of the situation and the results of negotiations with Western partners. … But in general, the price situation in the commodity market suggests that this volatility will still lead to the ruble becoming one of the most stable currencies in 2022 in emerging markets, ”added the NRA CEO.

According to the Moscow Exchange as of January 7, 2022, the ruble exchange rate was 75.75 rubles / $.
