The Government modified a regulation that prevented them from being paid at the same time as state employees
New change in the payment of salaries for the Armed Forces
The measure became effective two days after the Government published a DNU that improves the time of payment of salary increases in the Armed Forces, since, previously, The uniformed officers received the increases with a one-month delay in relation to the rest of the state employees.
With the signature of all the ministers of the national Cabinet, and after management by the Ministry of Defense, in charge of Luis Petrithe Executive Branch decided to modify Law No. 11,672 complementary to the Budget to allow the Armed Forces to receive the increases in the same month in which they are granted to the rest of the National Public Administration (APN). This is a “historical demand” from military personnel, according to official sources.
Decree 775/2024, published on Friday in the Official Gazette, replaced article 86 of Law No. 11,672, which regulates salary increases within the framework of collective bargaining in the national State. The text includes an addition that extends these remunerations to the military, in order to equalize the situation with the civilian personnel of the Armed Forces who already enjoy this right.
Under the previous legislation, as explained by the Government, Military personnel received their increases with a one-month delay compared to other state employees. This caused economic damage and a loss of purchasing power in the face of inflation.
