BADA sought to demonstrate that it is possible to acquire quality works of art at affordable prices thanks to the careful selection of participating artists. It was born in response to the public’s desire to acquire works of art in a simple and direct way.

In this edition, visitors found a variety of artistic disciplines and styles to purchase, including painting, sculpture, photography, digital and textile art, art with artificial intelligence, tattoos, engraving, drawing, illustrations and more.

More than 300 artists specialized in different disciplines, from countries such as Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, and Mexico, among others, took part. The public was able to interact directly with them and ask them about their ideas, stories, techniques and any details about the works they had for sale at the fair without commissions or intermediaries.

There was ease in paying in installments, refunds and tickets with a 50% discount with certain banking entities, and all the artists had, in addition to their work in different sizes and prices, 10 works in small format with a price that did not exceed $120,000 pesos.

The artist Flavia Yanes Lombardipresented “Tóxica”, a multidisciplinary work inspired by the Greek myth of Persephone, which explores resilience and romantic love through photography, painting and sculpture. The work reflects on the difficulty of loving healthily by exploring the figure of Ivy, a character that represents toxicity in contemporary relationships.

Among the artists, there was Martin Riwnyj with large-format works, approached with classic techniques (oil, charcoal) referencing contemporary themes. the sculptor Alejandro Varelapresented his wooden characters, who in their closeness and vulnerability, expose fragments of the human condition.

So that visitors could bring their little ones along, during all the days of BADA in the AliArte space, children were able to paint on small frames, alongside the artists.

A bit of history

In 2009Ana Spinetto, She is also a visual artist and brought the “live artist” format to Argentina with Arte Sí – Supermercado de Arte. In 2012, she launched BADA in Pilar. This fair was created to promote the dissemination of Contemporary Art to the general public, with the premise of bringing the artist closer to new segments of the public, to people with whom they would otherwise have no contact.

Since then, BADA has established itself as an alternative in the local art market. It is a simpler and more direct meeting between artists and those who appreciate their work. This proposal has fostered the approach of people who do not usually frequent the formal art circuit of our market, but value the arts in their different manifestations and are interested in acquiring work in an easy and spontaneous way. The artist is his own company, he is self-managed. And BADA promotes the professionalization of the artist.
