The pandemic always presents new challenges for employers. Hygiene concepts have to be adapted and entire workforces have to be coordinated in the home office. Employees have to be tested and vaccinated – or they are absent because they fall ill and have to be quarantined. In this respect, this year’s employer ranking on the job platform Glassdoor can also be understood as a vote on the company’s crisis management.
In order to determine the “best employers 2022” for Germany, Glassdoor evaluated all employee reviews submitted on the platform between October 2020 and October 2021. Only companies with more than 1000 employees were taken into account in the ranking, which had at least 20 ratings in each of the queried categories in the relevant period. That is a rather weak minimum criterion. Regardless of the narrow study period, there are several hundred to thousands of reviews for all companies from the top 10 on the Glassdoor page.
The categories assessed include career opportunities, remuneration, corporate culture, diversity and inclusion, leadership behavior and work-life balance. “The world of work is developing rapidly, driven by the pandemic and by millions of employees who are now re-evaluating their expectations of employers,” says Glassdoor boss Christian Sutherland-Wong. “This year’s winners listened to the feedback from their employees and responded accordingly. They redesigned the employee experience to really put people first.”
Our photo gallery shows the best rated companies on a scale from 1 (very dissatisfied) to 5 (very satisfied). Glassdoor has taken other decimal places into account in the ranking, but not shown them.
