The Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation, Federico Sturzeneggerdefended this Friday the measures of deregulation carried out by the Government and confirmed that next week it will be regulate labor reform included in the Bases law. In this regard, he highlighted the article on “labour cessation”, which “will allow employers to design their own labour reform”.
“The most interesting thing about the labor reform is an article that bears the cessation systemwhich will allow you as entrepreneurs to design your own reform. They will be able to design the employment relationship in terms of permanence, dismissals, etc.“You will be able to do this together with the unions. In this way, you will be able to separate yourself from the compensation chapter of the employment contract law and invent it together,” said the former head of the Central Bank.
Sturzenegger spoke at the table “Implementation of Deregulation, Reform and Transformation of the State” in the 45th Annual Convention of the Argentine Institute of Finance Executives (IAEF).
In this regard, Sturzenegger explained that the system is currently implemented with construction workers, since the works have a specific time in which they are carried out, but in other work areas it can be implemented differently. Thanks to this termination system, “The Government will not define the labour reform, it will be defined by the employers” and it will be “in total freedom”.
According to the official, whatever the employers and unions decide is not obligatory for either the companies or the workers, which means that they can decide not to participate. “This means that when the top management is thinking about the regulatory framework, they will not be able to make it good for those at the top and bad for those at the bottom. The system will only work if it is good for the worker and the company.“, he added.
Sturzenegger defended deregulation
The official defended the deregulation carried out by the Government of Javier Mileiamong which he listed the satellite internet, the rents, Flight connectionsimport of auto parts, among others.
“In our regulatory structure we are too biased towards excessively controlling and preventing risks, without taking into account that this excess of regulation ultimately destroys much more activity than the risks it emits.”Sturzenegger pointed out, adding that this phenomenon is part of a “culture” either “ideology” about what “The State will solve all our problems”and that also helps justify this type of reform.”
In addition, he included another point that the Government takes into account for its management, which is “build certain regulatory frameworks that make the economy work better”beyond deregulation.
The minister confirmed that he has at least 200 deregulations and another 65 bills on his agenda. Among them, he announced that he will send a bill to the “educational reform”, which was in the Bases law, one of “modification of justice”, another of ““simplified divorce” and the so advanced “law litter”, that repeals 75 laws.
