Brendan Gleeson will have a major role in the upcoming live-action Spider-Man Noir series in Amazon Prime Video.
The exact details of Gleeson’s character are being kept under wraps, but specialist websites are reporting that he is believed to be playing the main villain.
Gleeson joins the series’ lead, Nicolas Cagethe program, which is currently titled “Spider-Noir”Other cast members include Lamorne Morris, Abraham Popoola and Li Jun Li.
What is Spider-Noir about?
According to the official synopsis, the show “tells the story of an aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to come to terms with his past life as the city’s only superhero.”
Cage previously portrayed Spider-Man Noir in the Oscar-winning animated film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.” This will be the first time the character has been portrayed in a live-action project.
This is one of the first projects announced by Gleeson since his Oscar and Golden Globe-nominated role in The Banshees of Inisherin.
In addition to his numerous critically acclaimed film roles, Gleeson has been part of several successful television shows in recent years.
