The Government launched the ANTI-STRIKE PROTOCOL against blockades of companies and factories

He Government of Javier Milei, through a resolution in the Official Gazette, announced the implementation of a “protocol of action” that aims blocking maneuvers, devices, fences or obstacles dedicated to labor claims in factories or workplaces.

According to article 1 of the regulations, “‘blocking’ shall be understood as maneuvers, devices, fences or obstacles, of any nature, that prevent, hinder or threaten, currently or imminently, the entry or exit of personsvehicles or merchandise in a production or service establishment anywhere in the national territory.”

The Executive Branch will implement an action in which The Ministry of Security will evaluate the complaints received to a WhatsApp number and “will bring the facts to the attention of the competent authorities and, if appropriate, instruct the Ministry of Security to deploy the nearest federal police and security forces to end the blockade and reestablish the normal entry and exit of persons, vehicles or merchandise in the affected establishment.”

He added: “If the authorities of the district where the events took place request assistance from the federal police and security forces, the highest authority of this jurisdiction will evaluate the need, the possibility and the opportunity to provide the requested assistance and will arrange the corresponding deployment.”

What is the Unified Command against blockades and strikes?

Last Friday, the Government also made official the creation of the Unified Command of Productive Securitya special force to “protect” oil, grain and mining companies from blockades and union protests.

Through resolution 893, the Ministry of Security assured that the Unified Command will be made up of the Secretary of Security, the Undersecretary of Territorial Deployment, the National Directorate of Operations and Territorial Deployment (or those that replace them in the future) of the Ministry of Security, the Argentine Federal Police, the National Gendarmerie, the Argentine Naval Prefecture, the Airport Security Police; and by the representatives that may be designated, from the police force of the provinces in which the activity of the Unified Command of Productive Security is necessary.

In turn, there will be a Unified Command General Coordination team which will be in charge of the highest ministerial authority and may be delegated to the official designated by the latter. He/she will be in charge of the management of the police forces and security forces involved in the operation, in coordination with the corresponding jurisdictional authorities.
