Thanks to this collaboration, Companies that store grains in silobags now have the possibility of tokenizing them, creating a “digital twin” of them.
“This process not only provides greater visibility and traceability to agricultural assets, but also allows silobags to be used as collateral in Matba Rofex futures and options operations, expanding the options of financial assets available,” they explained during its launch.
More than 5,000 tons have already been tokenized
Within the framework of this first operation, more than 5,000 tons of grains, with a value of more than US$1.6 millionwere tokenized and are available as collateral for various operations in Matba Rofex.
Origino is the platform where tokenization is carried out and the use of silobags as collateral in financial transactions is enabled.
“This system allows make visible and value the physical assets of the agricultural sectorensuring its quality and condition thanks to the integration of advanced technologies, such as sensorization and telemetry of silobags,” said Diego Lerini, director of Origination at Molinos Agro.
And he added: “It is a tool that allows the merchandise stored in warehouses to be used as collateral.”
