The number of delayed flights has sharply increased in Russia

In December, the largest Russian airlines had 35% of flights delayed by more than 15 minutes. The share of delays doubled by November (16%), and also exceeded the level of December, pre-pandemic 2019 (19%), when the number of flights performed was higher. This follows from the reports of the British aviation data provider OAG, which Izvestia analyzed.

The analysis includes regular flights under the SU code, which are operated by Aeroflot, Russia, Pobeda and Aurora airlines, as well as own flights of Pobeda, S7 Airlines, Ural Airlines, Utair, Red Wings and Smartavia … The total number of delayed flights last month for these carriers exceeded 17 thousand.For comparison, a month earlier, 7.8 thousand flights arrived 15 minutes or more from the schedule, and in December 2019 – 10.3 thousand.

In December, the best punctuality of arrivals, according to OAG, was shown by Pobeda (71.9%), Aeroflot had 71.8%, followed by Red Wings (65.7%), Smartavia (65.1%) , S7 (62%), Utair (57.8%), Ural Airlines (36.5%).
