His medical work and his spiritual and supportive support to overcome adversity will remain in my memory forever, as will his values ​​in the friendship that we built.”wrote the former governor of the province of Buenos Aires.

“A fraternal hug for his children, grandchildren, relatives and friends,” he concluded.

Cahe also remained close to high-profile figures such as former President Carlos Menem, Scioli himself, host Susana Giménez and singer Sandro, among others.

The doctor met Maradona in 1977, when “Pelusa” was just 16 years old, and the player’s representative Jorge Cyzterpiller took him to the office to get a prescription for some vitamins.

From that moment on, she accompanied him even in the toughest times: for example, Cahe recognized that Maradona was addicted to drugs, and in that context, she helped him undergo different treatments to stop consuming.

She was also with Diego when he was rushed to the seaside resort of Punta del Este in 2000, which brought him close to death.

However, when the 1986 World Cup champion in Mexico died on November 25, 2020, Cahe said that “Diego let himself go and it was a kind of suicide.”

“Maradona was not fit to be discharged and he was not thoroughly checked. For me there was negligence, imprudence and incompetence, all three things,” said the doctor in conversation with the program “Tarde de una crónica anunciada” hosted by Nelson Castro on Radio Rivadavia.
