The euro rate has risen to 87 rubles

The euro exchange rate in the course of foreign exchange trading on the Moscow Exchange rose to 87 rubles, while the dollar rose to 76 rubles. On January 13, data from the exchange testify to this.

So, the euro exchange rate in settlements “tomorrow” at 17:49 Moscow time is growing by 1.47 rubles, to the level of 86.97 rubles.

A few minutes before that, the euro exceeded the mark of 87 rubles.

The dollar rate during currency trading at 18:06 Moscow time increased by 1.73% to the close of the previous session, to 76 rubles.

The last time the dollar rose to such a value on January 7.

By 18:10 Moscow time, the dollar accelerated growth and was at around 76.05 rubles.

At 14:45 Moscow time, the euro rose to 86 rubles. It is assumed that the ruble fell in price against the background of a statement by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov on January 12 – he said that Russia would find alternatives if new US sanctions were introduced.

Ryabkov’s statement was made against the background of the fact that a group of Democratic senators in the United States presented a bill providing for the introduction of new sanctions against Russia in the event of an aggravation of the situation around Ukraine. In particular, the restrictions include a ban on transactions with primary and secondary public debt of the Russian Federation.

Economist and lecturer at RANEPA Vladislav Ginko said that the weakening of the ruble against the dollar and the euro is emotional amid threats of sanctions from the United States.
