While the Executive Branch weaves alliances and rehearse agreements to revalidate in 2025 the support achieved last year at the polls, citizenship is advancing along a parallel path, with strong disbelief in the ability of the economist and his cabinet to get the current situation back on track.
A new survey conducted by the consulting firm Zuban Cordoba and released in the last few hours reports a new Javier Milei’s government’s image declines and an increase in distrust regarding the image of the President due to the decrease in its credibility.
The study analyzed the reaction of respondents to ten phrases spoken by Milei in recent times. As a result, they claim that it is given “a striking phenomenon” in which “People believe that many of the things the president has said recently are lies.”
Along those lines, 70.6% believe it is a lie that “the purchasing power of retirees flew” this year, as Milei claimswhile 76.2% believe that it is not true that “water, electricity and gas rates are cheap”. In addition, they were asked if they agree that “The real chainsaw was applied to politics, not to people” and for 69.2% it is false.
Javier Milei’s disapproval rating increases
As in previous studies, the opinion poll asked respondents about their approval of Milei’s government. The results show that 57.3% disapprove of the national management, while 42.3% have a positive opinion.
From the study carried out at the beginning of September, it can be inferred that increase in disapproval of management from 43.5% in December to 57.3% this month, with slight improvements in February, April and July and subsequent falls. The decline in the image recorded at the beginning of September occurred in a context in which the President decreed the veto of the increase in pensions, prior to ratification by Congress.

In addition, 55.1% believe that the country is going “in the wrong direction”while 39.5% approve of the direction taken by the President. Disapproval of the path taken by the Government has also been increasing since July, when it reached 50.1%. At that time, 45.2% supported the direction taken.

With his image in decline due to the poor economic numbers, the President aims to regain centrality by presenting tonight, from 9 pm, the Budget 2025 in Congress. As anticipated by Ámbito, the central axes will be the Zero deficit and the reduction of the State.
The government does not have enough votes to approve the “law of laws” and so another legislative battle is expected for a minority ruling party.
