The authorities emphasized that “this renewal is valid for an annual period with a quarterly review and monthly corrections.
The first stage contemplates a guideline of 2% monthly average for all products and will be in force until April 7.”
“The new list contains articles from the items and categories of warehouse, cleaning, bookstore, perfumery, personal care and hygiene, items for babies, pets, fresh (dairy products, cold cuts, fresh pasta, empanada and cake tops), frozen and beverages and it is an agreement between the National Government and more than 100 companies that produce mass consumption goods where there are large companies (the bulk of the basket) and also SMEs that have joined in the latest renovations and that highly value the participation of their products in the program”, highlighted the official report.
Later, the authorities stressed that “it is the ninth consecutive year that this program will be in force, which began in 2014 and is consolidated as a structural, comprehensive and relevant public policy for consumption and pocket care of Argentine households.”
The government explained that “+Precios Care products are marketed throughout the country, in the main retail and wholesale supermarket chains, and branches of the Cooperativa Obrera.”
He then indicated that “the inspections carried out by the Ministry of Internal Trade show that both in supply and in prices and signage there is high compliance by the participating businesses. During the previous stage, more than 80% were registered in compliance with supply of products and more than 90% prices. For this renewal, companies and supermarkets committed to continue with these good levels of compliance.”
The National Internal Trade Secretariat and the provincial secretariats will continue to monitor compliance with the program through inspections.
The authorities remarked that “the main objective of the program is to provide a signal and price reference in gondola and allow consumers to access a large number of brands and presentations of the most representative goods of daily consumption and is positioned as a policy that allows improving the purchasing power of all, reducing the weight that the basic basket has on income”.
