The number of judicial bankruptcies of Russians over the past year increased by 62%, reaching almost 193 thousand, follows from the data of the Fedresurs project, which Izvestia got acquainted with. At the same time, the growth rate of insolvency in 2021 slowed down compared to the previous year. In 2020, by 2019, the figure was 72.6%.
In absolute terms, in terms of the number of bankrupt citizens, Moscow and the Moscow Region are still leading – 10.2 thousand and 10 thousand, respectively. The top five is closed by the Krasnodar Territory (9.8 thousand), St. Petersburg (8.2 thousand) and the Samara Region (7.9 thousand). The vast majority of insolvency proceedings (95%), as before, were initiated by the debtors themselves, follows from the materials.
At the same time, extrajudicial practice, on the contrary, began to gain momentum. Since September 2020, this procedure has been approved by almost 6.5 thousand citizens, according to Fedresurs, which publishes information from the MFC. The amount of debt of citizens for the entire period amounted to 2.26 billion rubles in the initiated procedures for extrajudicial debt cancellation, of which 1.35 billion in completed ones, follows from the materials. 9 thousand wishing to use the new mechanism were denied.
In 2021, there was no acceleration in the growth in the number of consumer bankruptcies, contrary to expectations, said Alexei Yukhnin, head of Fedresurs. He believes that the restructuring of bank loans has allowed many to overcome the crisis.
