Head of Google Austria: “The benefits of AI should be accessible to everyone”

In 2012, Google began training computers to recognize cats on the video platform YouTube, “a seemingly insignificant achievement, but in reality our first foray into the field of machine learning,” says Maimuna Mosser, Managing Director of Google Austria. Google’s leadership role in the field of artificial intelligence goes back a long way.

In 2016, CEO Sundar Pichai said that Google was an “AI-first company”: Many of the well-known products, from Google Search to Maps, Google Photos or YouTube, could provide even faster and more specific information through AI. According to its own definition, the company has been committed to this topic for around a decade.
