A special analysis of the portfolios of independent asset managers shows that the share of equities in portfolios is growing. Three German DAX stocks are also popular with professional investors.
North America is becoming increasingly important in German portfolios. A special analysis of around 62,000 portfolios for 2023, which are managed by local asset managers, shows that a large part of customer money is now invested in the USA, namely 44 percent of the investment capital. In Europe, on the other hand, only 28 percent of the aggregate portfolio volume is invested.
In 2018, it was almost exactly the opposite. The EU share was 41 percent and the US share was “only” 29 percent, according to a study by the Institute for Asset Building (IVA), a provider of wealth tech software platforms.
