The Government established a series of changes starting this Monday for those who want to access a disability pension. The modifications were made through Decree 843/2024 published in the Official Gazette. Thus, this Monday, after the publication in the Official Gazette, a resolution was issued that limits the conditions required to access a disability pension. The decision was made after the first results of an audit carried out on the database of beneficiaries found that there were “alarming inconsistencies.”
In the first 10,900 pensions surveyed by a team from the National Agency for Disability (ANDIS), out of more than 330,000 granted in the metropolitan region, the majority of the beneficiaries of the pension do not live where they had declared and less than half meet the requirements to access that benefit.
