War in the Middle East: Lufthansa extends flight ban to Israel and Iran

Lufthansa continues to suspend flights to the Middle East due to the tense security situation.

In view of the tense security situation in the Middle East, Lufthansa is extending its flight ban to Israel and Iran. Flights to Tel Aviv and the Iranian capital Tehran will be cancelled until October 14th, the airline announced in Frankfurt. Israeli and Iranian airspace will be avoided until then. Flights to the Lebanese capital Beirut will also remain suspended as planned until October 26th.

The company said it is continuing to monitor the situation closely and will continue to evaluate the situation in the coming days. Affected passengers can rebook for a later travel date free of charge or receive a refund of the ticket price.

After the recent wave of explosions involving portable radio receivers in Lebanon, Lufthansa announced that it was suspending its flights to and from Israel and Tehran. In addition to the core airline, the Lufthansa Group also includes Swiss, Austrian, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings.
