The film The Jockey will represent Argentina in the race for the Oscar Awardsfrom the Hollywood Academy, and Goya, from the Spanish Film Academy, according to information provided on Monday by the Argentine Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences.

In a ceremony held at the headquarters of Argentine Film Directors (DAC), in Buenos Aires, it was announced that the film directed by Luis Ortegawhich recently premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival and had a notable impact in Venice, will represent the country in the race for both awards.

At the Goya Awards, which will be presented on February 5, 2025, El Jockey would be nominated for the Best Ibero-American Film category, while at the Oscars, whose ceremony will take place on March 2, 2025, it would be nominated for the Best International Film award.

In the case of the Hollywood Academy Awards, the 15 international shortlisted films will be announced on December 17, and a month later, on January 17, the five nominees will be announced.
