Going on holiday regularly, eating out once a week and maintaining the house at the same time – maintaining your own high standard of living in retirement is difficult with the state pension alone. In addition to classic pension products such as life or pension insurance, ETFs are becoming increasingly popular. In 2022, around 191 billion euros in savings volume was in exchange-traded index funds in Germany – that’s a whopping 158 percent more than in 2012. Anyone who is just starting to find their way around the ETF jungle should consider a few things when making their own investments.
